| Hey all! Today, I had some problems with my resolution since installing Xfire. It kept changing to 800x600, that's not the problem beacause its the default and it still looks quite good with proper settings, but in my case it looked awful. Since my monitor is 1920x1080, I wanted to test if it's possible to differ from the standard ingame resolutions which sucks. Guide: 1. Right click W:ET desktop shortcut > properties : You'll see this: 2. We need to be in the target box: Make sure you cursor is at the end of the line, in this case we can see Rob's guide end. 3. The Trick: we are able to launch W:ET in the prefered resolution by adding some lines at the end of the target box. - Code:
-
r_mode "-1" +r_customwidth "1920" +r_customheight "1080" +cg_fov "115" +set com_hunkmegs "256" +vid_restart Ofcourse, the customwidth and height is depending on your own monitor, (1920 x 1200) or else, just like the FOV. This is changeable ingame via esc > N!ITmod Tweaks. Default is 90, but for most people it's likely to increase this when having a bigger monitor resolution. And yeah, don't forget to click ok So when clicking the shortcut, W:ET will start up in customized resolution. Proof: When clicking ingame Options > system, Resolution will display "custom" That's my guide and I hope it helped some peeps |

| That's for me just impossible to play with. I know peeps are playing in 800x600 Wmode, but yours is just to small for me. My respect for you is just growing each day |

| You could put this in a CFG file as well and then it would be available on any ET server you played on.
Nice job! |

| Thanks!, Didn't knew that it was possible in cfg. Currently testing with two monitors: 3200x1000 - Code:
-
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\et.exe" +connect 213.108.29.112:27010 +r_mode "-1" +r_customwidth "3200" +r_customheight "1000" +cg_fov "145" +set com_hunkmegs "256" +set r_fullscreen 0 +vid_restart ClickaPica |

| Does it degrade the graphic element of the textures at all or does it only affect things like console text, UI, etc? I haven't messed around with the resolution since I figured its an old game and any, more modern resolution customization's might not be prudent. I'll give it a go though if it does increase quality for us with 1980 x 1080 screen capabilities (i <3 my monitor) Good find! |

| It does not degrade quality in any way. Quite the opposite actually. |

The Quality displayed in the pictures, especially the textures, are not that awful ingame! For You: 1920 x 1080 CG_FOV 90 Normal fov, looks awful with this resolution Click! 11920 x 1080 CG_FOV 120 Looks much better! Click! 21920 x 1080 CG_FOV 120 One thing I want to point out is the following: looks how big this crate looks. The first 1/3 part of the screen is a bit stretched! Click! 31920 x 1080 CG_FOV 120 Same FOV, Normal size of the crate, not stretched as the crosshair points to the crate Click! 4 |

| r_mode is for setting screen resolution, 4 = 800×600, 6 = 1024×768, modelist. Set to -1 to make use of r_customwidth & r_customheight.
com_hunkmegs is the amount of memory you are allocating for this
vid_restart reloads the video/rendering etc, required for some cvar settings to take actual effect.

| Thanks Shoot for clarifying! The only thing I have to figure out is what noticeable effect the hunkmegs will have when in or decreased. Dont accuse me of cheating when I can see you ClickaPic |

| You have to be somewhat careful though when tweaking these settings and getting used to them. Some servers can force CVARs on you so you have to stay within ranges, for example forcing all players to have 90-100 FOV.
I am not sure if Bulls has this set or not but I am eager to hear your results. |

| In our server, You won't see more past fov 160. If fov is higher, only your gun will get smaller. |
