unfortunately, I have run into a bit of a problem. Every time I move on the server I'm lagged out. I was wondering if anybody has any suggestions as to what I can do to bring down the lag. The first week wasn't bad at all. But now it's every second.

I will check tomorrow if the network performence of the server has been declined. If not you should check your network and internet connection. I could help you on this if you post something about your Hardware you use (LAN / WLAN? Which Router? Internet Speed? Other Clients on your network? Background applications while you play? Etc...)

I have changed all my ET settings as follows:

/cl_maxpacket 100 tired 15 but better at 100
/max_fps 65
/rate 25000

Closed everything but xfire and Chrome

Time Warner cable with a constant 30 down 5 up

Motorola wireless modem that has been reset and renewed

Computer was restarted.

Comp hardware:
8 Gig DDR3 RAM
Quad core 4.2Ghz Zambzi Processor
Dual harddrives running RAID 0

So I don't think it's a client side issue lol.

Let me introduce myself first. I am NightFall, currently a member of H2O clan, formerly a member of G!X. We have a n!tmod server as well and if I recall right, some people had the same problem on our server.

I think they fixed their lag problem by removing the punkbuster folder from their ET folder. Now don't shoot me if this doesn't solve it (it has been almost 2 years since I heard that so I could be wrong). But I suggest to just copy and past the punkbuster folder to some other location so it can't interfere. If it doesn't solve your problem, simply put it back.

Thanks for the information NightFall. I check the network performence of the Server and there is no significant change. So obviously, its a client side problem :/

Yes I do WLAN. Do you think its just my location? Since being located in the us I would get lag spikes? I'll try the punk buster solution when I get home.

We should meet up at the server if you got time and have a look for it together.
